Age isn’t going to stop this grandma from enjoying her games. Shirley Curry, a now-83-year-old YouTuber, is not a cooking channel, not a knitting channel, not any type of channel you’d expect from a person her age. Instead, she found herself infatuated with the world of gaming. With that said, it was her birthday April 2 and as a well-meaning gift to Shirley, a group known as Gameumentry launched their latest documentary.
Dubbed “Shirley Curry: The Gaming Grandma”, the doc lasts twenty-seven minutes. The entirety of the documentary is Curry going through her story and how she went about YouTube. From her start as a sweet grandma wanting to sort recipes on a computer to playing Civilization II all the time even going on to her fanbase of a bit over half a million.
The documentary is worth a watch if you’re a fan of knowing how other YouTubers made their beginnings and the journey to where they are now. It’s nice to see a grandmother finding a hobby that landed her the fame and audience she’s found and a spot in The Elder Scrolls 6.
Keep it up, Grandma, and keep on making your wholesome let’s plays!
What did you think of the documenatry? Have you seen it? Let us know in the comments!
