Even though the story of Rick Grimes (portrayed by Andrew Lincoln) has come to a close on The Walking Dead, that doesn’t mean we’ll never see him again. It turns out this is merely the end of Grimes in the TV series. So, if you’re sad to see him go, just wait, you’ll be fine.

After Rick was taken away to an unknown location rather than passing away, fans speculated when his next appearance was going to be. However, this has been shot down by the executive producer, Scott Gimple. During an EW interview, he spilled the beans and announced that films that were once mere murmurs, were actually in full-swing. These films would focus on Rick Grimes.

The first feature-length film will take place right after Rick was taken and would also feature Jadis alongside him. Not much else is known other than it’s planned to be a trilogy, but also not the only films that will be based on Rick. The place these films will air appears to be, according to Gimple, AMC.
