Following the joke petition aiming to turn Shaggy from Scooby Doo into Mortal Kombat 11 DLC, we have a new “kontender”; the Mars Rover. It’s not uncommon for franchises to toss a character into another realm and see how it goes. Mortal Kombat did this in the past with Freddy, Jason Voorhees, and Leather Face. Other franchises have done similar things like Soulcalibur VI adding Geralt or the mashup game; Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe.

Earlier this month, a satirical website, Woken News, had started a petition wanting to add Shaggy to Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC lineup. This petition had garnered a large following which in total – as of writing this – netted them over 300,000 signatures. Now, a new petition has risen, wanting to add the Mars Rover to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster.

I want to contribute the Mars Rover for [its] hard work of 15 years when it was supposed to only be there for 90 days. I’m shaking and crying rn.

The petition has only been up for about four days and has amassed just under its 1,000 signature goal. The Mars Rover petition is very clearly a joke, but one would still have to wonder . . . how would it fight and what would its fatality be?
