The Cub: A New Narrative Inspired By Difficult SEGA Classics

Demagog Studio has once again partnered up with Untold Tales to bring fans a brand-new title in the same universe as Golf Club Wasteland. Called The Cub, you play as a mutant child living on the desolate remains of Earth after many wars wiped the race out, leading to the planet turning into one large golf coarse for the ultra-wealthy.

While Golf Club Wasteland is entirely a post-apocalyptic golf game, The Cub takes it to an entirely new direction with a vastly different play style. Modeled after SEGA‘s roster of difficult early games, we’ll get to play a game that’s also meant to draw in some nostalgia with its art style, being inspired by Atlantis, Road to El Dorado, and Tarzan.

Creative Director Igor Simic calls the game a sequel, but isn’t a “copy-paste” sequel.

The game is set in the same world as Golf Club: Wasteland, but this isn’t a copy-paste sequel. We’re going back to the world we created using it to tell new stories from the perspective of a survivor on Earth. We’ve also written it in such a way that the story in The Cub intersects with the one in Golf Club: Wasteland and then continues on for those who wanted to know the fate of the golfer and the child.”

The Cub is arriving on PC and consoles, but there’s currently no release date. You can wishlist on Steam, though.
