Stardew Valley Sells 10 Million Copies Worldwide

Stardew Valley is really climbing the sales ladder. The farming sim across just about all platforms seems to have crossed 10 million sales. As of recently, its developer Eric Barone/ConcernedApe, updated the press page. Tucked away at the end of its history, it touts the game sold 10 million copies worldwide.

Hitting that sales number is no easy feat, especially considering the game’s previous public sales number. Back in August 2019, it was revealed the game sold nine million copies. This means in less than a year the game saw a substantial spike in sales.

Stardew Valley puts you in the shoes of a family member of a now-passed farmer who gave you their farmland. It’s up to you how to play, be it multiplayer or singleplayer and how to grow your farm. It’s your area to explore and your world to inhabit. You can even marry people.

The game launched early 2016 with the game being developed solely by Barone. As the year went on and the game sparked one million sales, he expanded the game to be played on Mac and Linux and later it was launched to PS4 and Xbox One. 2017 saw its Switch release and then finally, it launched to mobile devices in 2018.
