Soulja Boy continues to try to tunnel into gaming culture. In late 2018, he wanted to form a competitive team to compete in eSports games like Overwatch and Fortnite. Early this year, he released knock-off consoles that contained Nintendo IPs, so he landed a lawsuit from them. On February 19th, he tweeted that he’s been playing Apex Legends and is recruiting gamers for eSports.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA. The game received positive feedback and has 25 million players. Even Twitch star, Ninja, participated and won the first Apex Legends Tournament. Souljia Boy claims that Ninja is his inspiration to compete in esports.
It’s not certain if Soulja Boy will be the manager, coach, competing in them or funding a team. If he truly is passionate about eSports then he better prepare for a stiff competition. He will be facing against battle royale champions and Ninja. I would say his chances are very slim.
However, this could be a ploy to distant himself from his failed knock-off consoles and website. Worst case scenario, he will try to use Apex Legends to advertise his knock-off consoles.
