The Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which saw a redesign last month following intense fanbase backlash, released a new trailer on its Japanese YouTube channel. The brand-new trailer itself isn’t too far off from its American counterpart, but it did feature something the other didn’t. A baby version of Sonic.
The trailer was released Thursday and the internet is in love with Sonic, some even mixing them with The Mandolorian‘s Baby Yoda.

Meanwhile, some see this reveal as a way of adorably competing with Baby Yoda.

While some are simply calling him a shrunken down Sonic, which all in all, he is, it’s still cute.
The redesign was revealed soon after its initial and failed debut trailer. Reportedly, it cost Paramount a total of around $5 million to correct its bizarre uncanny valley choice.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is due out in theaters on February 14, 2020.
