Ninja Leaves Twitch, Moving To Mixer

Twitch’s biggest Fortnite streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, has announced he’s abandoning Twitch for Microsoft’s streaming service, Mixer. This news comes directly from his Twitter account. Ninja labeled this “the next chapter”. It’s not crystal clear why he’s making the sudden movement, but he has served little bread crumbs behind this change. In a follow-up video he stated:

I have been holding on to this for quite some time and I’m just super excited to let everyone know. I’ll be streaming on Mixer full-time now and I’m honestly at a loss for words. I’m freaking out in the best ways. I feel like I’m going to get back to the streaming roots.

You don’t have to worry that Ninja won’t do Fortnite streams anymore. He goes onto say that his streams will be “the exact same”. This all simply transferring over to a different platform and has no plans of changing his content.

Twitch has wished Blevins luck in his future endeavors, according to a response to The Verge.

We’ve loved watching Ninja on Twitch over the years and are proud of all that he’s accomplished for himself and his family, and the gaming community. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Mixer on the other hand said:

We’re thrilled to welcome Ninja and his community to Mixer. Mixer is a place that was formed around being positive and welcoming from day one, and we look forward to the energy Ninja and his community will bring.

For the longest time, Ninja was Twitch’s main star and his leaving could be a huge blow to them. Meanwhile, their competitor will be receiving a huge boost from a popular streamer brimming with personality. Only time will tell on this will affect Twitch and Mixer.
