More Information on Disney’s Streaming Service, Disney+, has been Revealed

It’s no secret that Disney’s streaming service is underway and will be coming soon. This was clarified and a name has finally been tagged to the property. The streaming service will be called Disney+ and will feature new and existing properties owned by Disney.

I think it’s fair to say Disney wants exclusive streaming rights to their properties as more and more of their series are pulled from other streaming platforms. This includes series they worked together to create. You may remember that we reported that Iron Fist was canned from Netflix’s originals roster. Some speculate that it’ll be moved to Disney+ once it’s online.

There also will be a miniseries that will be based on The Vision and the Scarlet Witch and a Cassian Andor Rouge One spin-off. Other series that are slated to come to the service include the final season of The Clone Wars, the live-action Star Wars series; The Mandalorian, a series based on Monsters Inc., a live-action Lady and the Tramp, and more.

No specific release date has been confirmed for the launch of Disney+. We do, however, know it will be sometime in late 2019.
