Japanese Man Arrested for Selling Modded Super Famicom Mini Consoles Online

Tampered Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom consoles were sold to three individuals online. The seller, a man with the name Miyamoto, has been arrested by Japanese police. But, don’t worry, it’s not that Miyamoto.

The Super Famicom Mini normally comes pre-built with twenty-one different games. According to an article made by Asahi, translated by a third-party, 39-year-old Tomoyuki Miyamoto sold three of the modded Super Famicom Mini consoles for ¥61,500 ($544.69) each online. The Ibaraki Prefecture seller had added five other games into the mini console. Allegedly, one of the five games modded in was Super Mario Bros.

The 39-year-old has been charged with infringing on the trademark rights of Nintendo and four other companies.
