Better enjoy your crime sprees on the PS3 and Xbox 360 while you can because it’s coming to a close this year. Rockstar announced that they will be cutting GTA Online support on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
This announcement stems from Rockstar’s support page. They announced GTA V, Max Payne 3, and L.A. Noire will be losing online support later this year on both old consoles. Starting September 16, 2021 Shark Cards will no long be available for purchase. December 16, 2021 is the finale day for GTA Online for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Hopefully you haven’t made any more digital purchases on the old console versions because there is no way to transfer it to new ones. Also, no refunds are available. All character data and progress can’t be transferred either, so you better make peace with that.
Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire will also be shutting down on September 16.
Rockstar did state that the shutdown won’t effect any of the game’s story mode. You can play those to your hearts content with no issues. Thankfully, the PS4 and Xbox One versions won’t be meeting the same fate. They did announce that last-gen versions of GTA V and Online will be upgraded to current consoles.
