Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is getting a sequel. Dubbed Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the game is to take place in Seattle and centered around the “Mass Embrace”. That of which being the day many vampires were born. The player character is among the newborn vampires.
In the wake of a weird dating app premise, Paradox Interactive launched an app – Tender – which matches users up with compatible blood types. This in and of itself seemed bizarre to say the least. But, it grew more suspicious as time went on and users realized if they had a Paradox account, they could access the app.
Paradox is the company who bought White Wolf Publishing and all its properties back in 2015. One such property included World of Darkness, which was the basis of Vampire: The Masquerade. Days went on and “leaked” memos from Tender’s CEO spread around indicating they had to be ready for San Francisco on March 21. As pretty clear, this was around the Game Developers Conference held in San Francisco.
Vampire: The Masquerade started life as a tabletop RPG and grew a cult following, enough of one for its fifth edition to be released in 2018. In 2004, to get with the times, a video game was launched with the title Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. This wasn’t the sole game to be created around the franchise, it also had a mobile game. But, fans of the original game will hopefully be pleased with the announcement of this sequel.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is releasing to the PS4, PC, and Xbox One early 2020.
