Game of Thrones George R.R. Martin

Game Of Thrones’ Creator Doesn’t Want It To End Like This

The sad truth is, everything must come to an end, even if there’re people wishing it not to be true. This ongoing season eight of Game of Thrones will mark its final season. Some are excited to see how the story will end, others are saddened to see the series go. One such individual is none other than George R.R. Martin. While speaking to THR, Martin expressed that he doesn’t believe this should be the definitive end of the series.

I don’t think it should be the final season. But here we are. It seems to me we just started last week. Has it been longer than that? The time has passed by in a blur.

He continued by expressing how it is the end of Game of Thrones, but not the franchise as a whole.

I know it’s an end, but it’s not much of an end for me. I’m still deep in writing the books. We saw five other sequel shows in development. I think I’m going to be hanging around Westeros while everyone else has left.

While Game of Thrones may be ending, this isn’t the end of A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series it’s based on. With that said, who knows how long we will need to wait for another entry as its last entry, A Dance With Dragons, has been on shelves for eight years now, and we’ve heard little about the next book, The Winds of Winter.

HBO is also in the process of creating multiple other prequel series tied to the franchise.
