It’s been a long time coming since the last time we’ve seen footage of the Final Fantasy VII remake. During the State of Play event a few days ago, fans were given a new trailer. This also led to another fact about the game and how it will be distributed. Apparently, we are not receiving a full game from the remake. It will release in parts and so when you play likely the first quarter of it, you’ll have to pay for the next part, then the next and so on.
Many fans are outraged and desire a full-fledged title. Plenty of Final Fantasy fans believe VII to be the best of the bunch.
This isn’t something entirely foreign though, originally on the PlayStation 1, you had up to three different disks that added up to the full game. However, in this modern age, this is considered unacceptable and strange. We’ll have to wait and see where this lands when more info is revealed in June.
