It’s almost been a full year since everyone saw the release of the Marvel’s Avengers video game. Within that year, the game has faced scathing reviews and extremely low player base.
New life could be injected into Marvel’s Avengers with War for Wakanda and the PS4’s exclusive Spider-Man DLC. However, IGN reported earlier this year that War for Wakanda will be done before everyone’s favorite wall crawler.
IGN asked when will we be able to see the character. Head of Crystal Dynamics, Scot Amos, assured they’re working on it, but called it a plan for the future.
“I can tell you that, formally, officially, people are working on him right now. So it is still on our roadmap for the future.”
Looking at the roadmap, you can see Black Panther is set to be the last expansion for Marvel’s Avengers in 2021. The roadmap doesn’t mention Spider-Man anywhere and Amos stated Black Panther comes first. He does admit that Spidey is being worked on and reassures he will make it the PlayStation console, eventually. However, no timescale was offered.
It’s no secret that Marvel’s Avengers is in desperate need for new exciting content. But, will it even last long enough to reach the wall crawler?
