Cyberpunk 2077 has yet another reason for users to steer clear of the title until further notice as PC users are reporting their saves are getting corrupted after exceeding a certain threshold. What’s more, if it’s corrupted, it’s gone – there’s no fixes or method to reviving those saves and you’ll simply have to make a new one.
This isn’t a small feat to achieve this threshold, either. The cap of the save corruption glitch is 8MB, which would presumably take dozens of hours to accomplish and seeing that save wiped clean after dealing with the mountain of other glitches you no doubt faced probably isn’t what you want to see.
GOG, CD Projekt’s gaming retailer, now warns users that a corrupted save is irreversible and anyone who used the known dupe glitch should load a save without the glitch in place les you double your chances of facing this save file corruption.
PSA: Your save file is capped at 8mb on all platforms

This is far from the first glitch that Cyberpunk 2077 fans have encountered. Since launch, the game has faced huge pushback from console owners taking the brunt of the hit, but PC gamers are sure to rightfully make a fuss about this snafu. On newer consoles, the game is difficult to play and it’s borderline unplayable on what’s now considered last-gen consoles.
It got so bad that PlayStation pulled the game from the Store and CD Projekt had to admit defeat and fork over the dough to refund unsatisfied fans who bought physical retail copies. This comes even as the developer released two hotfix patches to mend some of its glitches. Needless to say, this has soured some on CDPR’s future projects until this game is squared away.
