Cuphead won’t change on the Switch in terms of difficulty. Some fans feared the game’s inclusion to the Switch would lead the game to be lowered in difficulty. This, of course, was refuted by creator Jared Moldenhauer as false while speaking to Kotaku during this year’s Game Developers Conference.
Some people wondered if we were going to tweak the balance or really adjust things, and I don’t see that as being fair.
He went on to explain he wanted “the next wave of gamers” to experience the game like intended.
We wanted to let the next wave of gamers experience it exactly how we intended to make it.
Cuphead is a run-and-gun that takes a lot of inspiration from classic cartoons. But, many gamer’s know that the game is challenging. As seasoned gamers know, StudioMDHR’s creation is infamously known for causing more than a few meltdowns and outbursts, sometimes leading to a broken controller or two. All I can really say is poor JoyCons.
Cuphead is releasing to the Switch April 18.
