In a surprising turn of events, Cuphead, known for its heavy inspriation of classic cartoons, is getting its own Netflix series called Cuphead The Show!. According to Netflix’s press release, the series is a comedy and will follow misadventures of the namesake character along with his brother, Mugman, in their hometown of Inkwell Isle all the while “expanding on the characters” of the series.
The show will be produced by Netflix Animations. C.J. Ketter will be the exec producer for King Features. Brothers, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will be executive producers for their studio, Studio MDHR.
The person acting as the executive producer for Netflix Animation will be Dave Wasson, best known for the Mickey Mouse Shorts. Cosmo Segurson, of Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling fame, will fill the role of co-executive producer.
This is the first longterm animated show for King Features which are known for the likes of Popeye, Betty Boop, Garfield, and more.
There is no information of when we may expect to see Cuphead The Show!.
