Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage earlier this year with nothing more than a cinematic trailer and a release year. Slated for sometime in 2023, initially it was believed to release in February, but later reports claimed a Spring release. Now we expect it to arrive sometime in August, though, that’s still up for debate as the proper date is yet to be seen.
The report comes from Insider Gaming who pointed out that this is a lengthy wait for an Assassin’s Creed entry. Its initial suggested dates will mark a two-year gap between it and Valhalla while the new expected date will mark it three years between entries. For some context, the last time we’ve waited for three years for an entry was between the first and second game.
Part of this vagueness is possibly to give the dev some time to work out some hardware limitations as Assassin’s Creed Mirage is releasing on both current and last gen consoles. Unlike previous games, though, this will be a smaller scale entry at only $49.99, according to reports.
None of Insider Gaming’s sources could properly explain the two internal delays. With this new development, though, it’s unlikely we’ll hear anything more about the game until the year ticks over.
